On windows :- enable your explorer to show hidden files on cpanel search for .htaccess. if u r unsure of how to edit it, simply change the permission of htaccess to 0777 change the permalink structure on wordpress. now the update of .htaccess will happen automatically. after ur done dont 4get to change the permission back to default. if u r unable to find .htaccess or edit it.
