Jazz Up your WordPress Admin with Fluency

(TRANSCRIPT)

Hi everyone, and welcome to Tubetorial. I’m Lorraine Nepomuceno.

If, like me, you spend hours every day in various WordPress dashboards, you might be interested in applying a new theme to your WordPress administration area. This is also particularly useful for those of us who install WordPress on client sites, allowing us to give an added touch of personalization to the sites’ back-ends.

Previously, there were quite a few of these WP admin themes floating about- but a lot of these are no longer supported, much less updated, to work with the current version of WordPress (2.9).

Except for Fluency, which was recently updated to 2.9. And that’s what I’ll be showing you today.

After downloading Fluency, I’ll upload it to the plug-ins directory of my blog. And now let me go into my dashboard.

Watch closely here, because as soon as I activate the Fluency plug-in, the look of my entire dashboard will change.

And there you go. You have hover menus, the option to switch between full and icon-only menu views- and you can also replace the WP login logo with your own image.

To go back to the default WordPress admin theme, I simply deactivate the plugin.

As you can see, Fluency features a clean, streamlined look and professional feel. It’s a great choice for changing the look of your WordPress dashboard without having to tinker with any templates.

I hope you enjoyed this episode of Tubetorial.
