How to Increase Comments and Page Views With One Quick and Easy Plugin

5th Essential WordPress Hack: The Subscribe to Comments Plugin

When was the last time you invited your audience to participate at your site? Better yet, when was the last time you actually asked them to listen to what you had to say?

If you’re anything like I was, you probably answered, “Well, never…”

And until now, I wouldn’t have blamed you.

Now, however, things are different 🙂

Now, I’d blame you because I know of this great little hack that answers both of those questions posed above. Not only will the Subscribe to Comments plugin invite your audience to participate, but it will also give users yet another way to keep up with — and participate in — your site.

To put it another way, this Essential WordPress Hack will help you get more comments and build a larger, more attentive audience. You can’t lose.

Oh, and did I mention that this is our easiest WordPress hack yet?

So, don’t make me blame you. Just hack it.

  1. Wow. I’m totally blown away! You captured the value of the plugin perfectly, and your production quality is top notch. Thanks so much for doing this!

The two-file install was for backwards compatibility with the first version of the plugin… but I’m going to merge it all into one file for the next major version.

  2. Thanks, I needed this one. I really appreciate your tubetorials – and I’m hoping that one day y’all will do one on Upgrading Word Press blogs. Some of mine are stuck in the Stone Age, but I’m too nervous to put them through the time machine, I’m afraid they won’t make it out.

Btw, I’ve used a few of your themes on my blogs, Chris, and they’re absolutely perfect. Clean, neat, and amazingly easy to work with. In fact, Cutline’s the main reason I want to upgrade my blogs – there are a few that I’m dying to deck out in Cutline.

Thanks for all of your hard work,
    Joi

  3. I tried it, did exactly what you did in the video and it does not work. I tried it with several different themes and still nothing. It shows on the site, I activated, etc…

    Any advice?

  4. Sorry for being so uninformed, but I don’t know where my plugins folder is. The screenshot you show in the video – with a tab for “my computer” on one side and “my site” on the other – isn’t anything I recognize. Li’l help, please? Thanks.

  5. This is great but out of date now. You just move the folder into the plugins directory on you server like all other plugins.
