Well, one of the problems of Technorati is that it is not supporting anymore blog in languages different from English. Such blogs have not been removed but their ranking is decreased dramatically. Most people, also in non-English countries, does not know that and still consider Technorati a reliable ranker. This is penalizing non-English blogs with respect English ones.
Even in the past, anyway, by not classifying blogs by languages, it was created an asymmetric situation. In fact, most links to a non-English blog is in another non-English blog of the same language. The ranking should be relative to the number of blogs in that language, not absolute, otherwise it is not a reliable measure.

As with anything, this is very interesting and would allow you to have another way of learning about your audience and how they find/use your content.

Technorati has announced that blogs written in a language different from English will be no more supported by their service. A consistent and valuable piece of blogosphere is disappearing from their index. See Technorati: the War of Languages.

[...] Link building. While link building is a part of organic SEO, it’s often worthwhile hiring someone to do only this full-time, under the wing of an experienced SEO if possible. Not only should a link builder build links, they should be tracking backlinks as well, using a variety of SEO tools.
