Constantin Nutu of Doctor31 tells us about 31 different medical specialties in one app.
First of all, how are you and your family doing?
Constantin Nutu: Thank you, we are all doing well.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Doctor31.
Constantin Nutu: Have you ever searched for your health symptoms on google? You noticed that the items found were not related to your health. Often there are articles that scare us when we read them and make us believe that we may be suffering from something serious.
These articles that we find are very well indexed or paid for.
I want people to have easy access to personalized medical information.
When you ask yourself what your symptoms mean, to get a personalized answer, not just about the word itself (symptom) but for the connection between that symptom and your age, the medications you take if necessary, your other symptoms, and information that it helps you understand what you have and what you need to do.
How does Doctor31 market its product/services online?
Constantin Nutu: We focus on online advertising, especially social media channels.
We always try to give our users educational materials about health and how our application can help them.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how did you get through it?
Constantin Nutu: This pandemic had negative effects on the health system, but there were some positive aspects.
The pandemic has accelerated digitalization in health. We also benefited from this.
We had more work to do, but that led to growth.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to manage your online marketing?
Constantin Nutu: At this moment, we consider that we are at the beginning of this road.
We try different approaches every week to see which one is best suited to our company’s business.
We decided that this year we should try without resorting to specialized agencies, out of the desire to be more natural, more personal towards people.
We try to express how we think, and we want an equal relationship with our users.
We want to avoid the tone of authority in the field.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Constantin Nutu: There are currently a considerable number of symptom checkers on the market. Everyone tries to provide the best service possible to help people.
We have advantages and disadvantages. We focused on the application, and we prioritized the creation of an application that functions as close as possible to the real medical practice.
Let’s clone the way doctors think so that we can help our users.
Compared to the competition, we have small advantages such as we tell you what the result of your blood tests means, we also tell you what the connection is between your symptoms and the medications you take or the medical investigations you have done, for example, an x-ray, a colonoscopy, etc
Your final thoughts?
Constantin Nutu: The pandemic, the marketing strategies, the advertising, and the daily work on this product for more than 7 years have led us to a product with which we can help you understand what happens to you when you are not feeling well, to understand what you need to do to solve the problem. It is free and does not ask you to create an account. We want you to use the app whenever you need it so that you can be calm about your health.
