First of all, how are you and your family doing during this COVID-19 pandemic?
Dr. Deepak Kamnasaran: Thank you for asking. We are fine; thanks. I hope you and your family are doing well too.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded CEN4GEN.
Dr. Deepak Kamnasaran: I am a Medical Geneticist, Medical Scientist, Technology Innovator, and Educator from Canada. My parents have inspired my life: Dr. Kam Kamnasaran and Mrs. Madodareedevi Kamnasaran, both of whom are award-winning educators in Canada. As a former University Academic Faculty in Pediatrics (Canada), and Medical Scientist (Canada) for several years, I have made several hundred contributions as an Author in reputable journals, book chapters, and encyclopedias, and participated in global lectureships, global scientific meetings as an organizer, reviewed academic journals, served on editorial boards of medical and scientific journals, provided global mentorships, reviewed collegial academic grants, judged scientific competitions, to cite a few. Through the process of immense competition, I have been presented with more than 50 prestigious awards from Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom (UK), and European Union (EU) for my distinguished academic as well as entrepreneurial work.
With my profound knowledge and expertise in biomedical sciences, I founded CEN4GEN Institute for Genomics and Molecular Diagnostics in the year 2014 in Canada, with a mission to provide comprehensive and cutting edge services and products that are vital to individuals, healthcare practitioners, and researchers worldwide by using cutting edge technologies in the disciplines of genome medicine and molecular diagnostics. Thus far, CEN4GEN is proud to serve clients globally from five continents who are from hospitals, universities, clinics, government agencies, commercial entities, and private individuals. Moreover, CEN4GEN is honored for being spotlighted or cited in many publications and the media. CEN4GEN is an award-winning company and is frequently nominated for prestigious awards.
How does your company market its product/services online?
Dr. Deepak Kamnasaran: There is no single recipe for how businesses market their products and services online. However, CEN4GEN uses a variety of methods, including Search Engine Marketing and Analytic tools available with search engines such as Google and Bing; social media tools such as Facebook (Meta) and YouTube; as well as online commercial sites like eBay, etc., to market our services and products.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how did you get through it?
Dr. Deepak Kamnasaran: The pandemic has certainly imposed challenges to businesses globally, including CEN4GEN. During this period, CEN4GEN took the notion to evaluate our operational framework to maximize efficiency. We pursued this period to innovate and explore other avenues of products and services which we think could help in the advancement of global healthcare, as well as to ease the pandemic crisis. For instance, during this period, the organization of CEN4GEN has innovated using Molecular Diagnostic Medicine and:
- developed COVID-19 detection and screening products;
- developed COVID-19 vaccine efficacy detection products;
- launched COVID-19 detection and screening services;
- manufactured a diverse assortment of rapid testing medical devices that are relevant to a wide range of human and animal molecular diagnostic medicine applications.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using?
Dr. Deepak Kamnasaran: We have well-established SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) guidelines that are utilized with the SWOT, PESTLE, and MOST business analysis methods to assess and alleviate risks for the products and services that we provide.
The current infrastructure of CEN4GEN is quite robust and flexible to handle a wide spectrum of challenges.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Dr. Deepak Kamnasaran: Although there are competitors with similar missions as CEN4GEN, CEN4GEN has always been receptive to collaborations and partnerships with individuals as well as private and public sector entities that share a common interest with CEN4GEN and can contribute to CEN4GEN’s long-term mission. There are always various types of skills, etc., that competitors could offer your company and vice versa in a collegial manner, which can strengthen your company’s objectives.

Dr. Deepak Kamnasaran: We live in a highly dynamic world and most often with spontaneous or unpredictable occurrences that pose challenges to the business sector. My advice to anyone who wants to pursue a career in the business sector is to do something that you are truly passionate about; you should have knowledge and expertise within the field of your business objectives; be creative, and work hard to fulfill your dreams.
