Obinna Nwadike of Global Drilling Resources tells us how they assist in sourcing all of the products and services needed to run your oil field & gas operations.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Global Drilling Resources.
Obinna Nwadike: I cofounded Global Drilling Resources to leave a mark and provide top-of-the-line services to the oil and gas sector in Africa, South America, and emerging markets. Today our company offers services to multinational entities in Brazil, Guyana, Nigeria, Angola and Mozambique. We have been able to withstand the lows of the oil clash and still do everything we can to put the needs of our clients first.
Do you have small habits that made a meaningful impact on your life and business?
Obinna Nwadike: Reading up on the industry, networking and keeping a balance, in addition to being open-minded to ideas and being receptive to constructive criticism.
How does Global Drilling Resources market its product/services online?
Obinna Nwadike: We have been very fortunate that companies such as PlusPetrol, Ocyan, and Shell, just to name a few, contacted us due to references and word of mouth. We do not take this for granted, and we try to reach out to prospective clients during trade shows as much as possible. However, the majority of our clients like the fact that we can save money and also like our problem-solving mechanism.
What specific tools, software and management skills are you using to manage your online marketing?
Obinna Nwadike: We use Google ads, bing ads, etc.
What is your hiring policy/process, and how do you retain your employees?
Obinna Nwadike: We try to hire motivated people with the same goals as we have. We never micro-manage and give our employees room to grow.
How are you funding your growth?
Obinna Nwadike: We are self-funded. We started the company with passion and zeal.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Obinna Nwadike: We have competitors, but we cooperate with them whenever possible. Our customer service, response time, passion and customer-first attitude allow us to stay in the game. We are always at service for our clients.
Tell us a customer success story of yours.
Obinna Nwadike: One of the major successes was completing our project on time and providing a credit line of $3 million to a few of our clients in Nigeria.
Your final thoughts?
Obinna Nwadike: The 2020 pandemic has shifted the way everyone does business. However, one thing that remains the same is that clients appreciate when we go above and beyond their requests. We pride ourselves on being a solution provider to the oil and gas sector. We continue to expand in Guyana and Suriname and looking forward to the growth. We are humbled that we have multinational clients stuck with us for over a decade. We cannot thank them enough. Thank you for the opportunity.
