Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Clearout.

Gnanaprakash Rathinam: I am a software engineer with over 20 years of experience designing and developing world-class software and apps. A large portion of my knowledge comes from working with early-stage firms, where we start from nothing, then grow and innovate while keeping consumers’ interests and current technology in mind.

In tackling sales and marketing challenges using technology, I discovered that existing solutions are either not cost-effective or are too complicated for non-technical people such as sales and marketers to utilize. Clearout and ClearoutPhone are such unique tools for reaching the target audience more elegantly and efficiently through email and phone channels.

Do you have small habits that made a meaningful impact on your life and business?

Gnanaprakash Rathinam: Basic discipline in personal and professional life is something I feel is highly vital in an individual’s life. Such as getting up early in the morning, walking, organizing the day ahead of time, sticking to a weekly work schedule, and eating nutritious meals. The essential hygiene considerations keep you focused on your objective while also making it easy to maintain a solid work-life balance.

How does Clearout market its product/services online? 

Gnanaprakash Rathinam: Marketing is done wholly in-house, with our marketing team working in tandem with the product team. Our primary focus is on organic growth. To do this, we employ channels such as social media, Quora, Reddit, review sites, SaaS listicles, newsletter campaigns, content marketing, and others. Furthermore, we have split our paid advertising strategy depending on Google search and display ads.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to manage your online marketing?

Gnanaprakash Rathinam: I believe that automation is the key to effective marketing. We maintain evaluating tools on hand based on our needs and choose the best one. Linkedin Sales Navigator, Moosend, instantly, different WordPress plugins, Google Analytics, Ubersuggest, Semrush, and more tools have found their way into our armory.

What is your hiring policy/process, and how do you retain your employees?

Gnanaprakash Rathinam: We value quality above expensive degrees or universities. These are not the primary criteria we use to choose candidates. We search for a candidate’s enthusiasm, fundamental topic knowledge, capacity to learn rapidly, positive attitude, and basic disciplinary cleanliness.

New suggestions are constantly welcome and taken into account. Because the team is small, everyone’s input is critical. We also believe in not having any constraints. How are you funding your growth?

Gnanaprakash Rathinam: We are self-funded and have never sought outside support. We started with little revenue and have already achieved respectable average revenue growth. Since the beginning of the adventure, the growth trajectory has been favorable on average.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

It was undoubtedly tough to survive/invade a market that already had a few major competitors. But it all boils down to product quality, service level, product innovation, and an accessible price structure. After conducting frequent market research, you will always be able to not only enter the game but also compete with your peers, and we are already in the game.

We began with only an email validation tool and subsequently expanded to phone validation and an email finder. These strategies were created to make the data validation process easier for organizations and marketers.

We want to broaden the scope of our product in the near future by releasing a prospecting tool that will be useful to marketing and sales professionals.
