First of all, how are you and your family doing?

Ojus Sharma: We are all doing great! I hope everything is fine at your end as well.

Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Applify.

Ojus Sharma: In 2013, my co-founder, Deepak, and I had a very intriguing idea of how to start a tech product company, but we discovered a giant problem. There was no ethical company we could find in India that could produce world-class designs and mobile apps. The first step was to search for an agency that could help us get the designs and tech development for our app idea. So, BOOM! As a solution to this problem, we set up a company to offer an experience that would make entrepreneurs or corporate teams feel like we are part of their venture and on the same journey as them.

How has the coronavirus pandemic affected your business, and how did you get through it?

Ojus Sharma: The pandemic was overall a big learning curve for us. Things went unpredictable for a couple of months, not just for us but for all businesses or industries. When it comes to running a B2B company, majorly things are dependent on customers or clientele. But due to the covid rush, the chain of independence was disturbed.

The first stage created a big confusion in the mindset of our clients that almost closed deals or onboard deals went on a pause which somehow affected our operations. It was a hard pill to swallow, but eventually, we managed.

The second stage was the learning stage. We experimented with new things. We adapted the remote working model successfully, and most importantly, we redefined our services in a more structured way that helped us shift our gears from survival mode to growth mode.

You mentioned the redefining of your business services in a more structured way, can you please elaborate on that?

Ojus Sharma: To skyline the vision of entrepreneurs’ digital journey, we introduced the concept of three different service lines.

StartX, DevelopX, and TeamX

StartX manifests the blueprint/wireframe for any product; in other words, it converts the concept or an idea into UX and UI designs. We build a clickable prototype of that concept or idea by adding style, structure, and shades.

DevelopX service is something that covers all the stages of app development, from design to deployment. It covers all the parameters that are included in the product building.

In our TeamX service, we provide a designated tech crew that manages all the stages of the digital transformation of a product.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Ojus Sharma: There are many app development companies across the globe and even in India, so it’s hard to distinguish any one particular agency or tech company. So, in my opinion, all the tier 1 companies across India within our domain are our competitors.

The only mantra we follow to stay in the game is to be authentic. When it comes to app development, we make sure our work is top-notch, we provide the best client experience or journey, and we ensure our work is adding value to their end-users.

On top of that, I believe that the main foundation of Applify is its people, which makes the company the best among its equals. In all our operations, we make sure we grow every day. Our workforce runs on the code of honesty and integrity. As a unit, we follow the principle of working on quality over quantity to be more effective than efficient and focus on healthy work culture.
