Tomas Zhang Mathiesen of ejendom.com tells us about the Danish Property Industry.

First of all, how are you and your family doing?

Tomas Zhang Mathiesen: Very good. Thank you. We are back to “normal,” thriving, traveling, and staying together again on different occasions. It is fantastic!

Tell us about you, your career, and how you joined ejendom.com.

Tomas Zhang Mathiesen: Well, besides from various part-time positions in corporations next to my studies at the Technical University of Denmark, I started my full-time professional career in PwC Denmark. Here, I had the best first five years that I could have wished for, where I was part of establishing a new department with a focus on digital transformation and IT project management. In 2021, I came in contact with a VC fund and a Danish engineering company, and they had an idea for a prop-tech startup/IT company within the Danish property industry. This had a perfect mix of a startup, corporate, and digitalization, so I did not hesitate to take part in this journey and became the CEO of ejendom.com

How does ejendom.com market its product/services online?

Tomas Zhang Mathiesen: We mostly use social media, webinars, video content, and meetings online with potential customers.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how did you get through it?

Tomas Zhang Mathiesen: We started in the second pandemic wave where things were more or less in control. We were very flexible with online meetings and followed the recommendations from our government.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to manage your online marketing?

Tomas Zhang Mathiesen: Well, social media pages like LinkedIn and Facebook and podcast interviews.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Tomas Zhang Mathiesen: By offering the best, most user-friendly, and intuitive product in the market at a competitive price. We have to constantly improve our platform with new features and changes based on our customers’ needs and demands.

Your final thoughts?

Tomas Zhang Mathiesen: The Dansh property industry is going through a maturity phase right now when it comes to digitalization and investments in IT and software. I believe that the property technology space is a huge market with great potential, and Denmark has all the key figures, role models, and technology available to succeed. We need to take it to the next level by strengthening trust, transparency, and data availability within the ecosystem. I hope, and I want ejendom.com to take part in that and facilitate that process.
