Adwaith S of FADN tells us about the music industry.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded FADN.
Adwaith S: I’m a former electronic music producer. I started making music when I was just 13, and I released my first track in 2017. Two years later, I dropped music production and focused more on learning about the music industry so I could launch my own record label. In 2019, I officially launched FADN Entertainment.
We started out first as a label that provides distribution and little marketing services. Soon after, we started working more on developing FADN and partnered with major music platforms like Hungama, iTunes, JioTunes, Vi, and more to provide our artists with more direct marketing opportunities and flexibility in delivering their music faster.
How does FADN market its product/services online?
Adwaith S: We market music digital distribution services on major music platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, JioSaavn, and more. Thanks to our distributors and partners, we can provide professional services for our artists and labels smoothly.
Which distributor are you using to manage your music delivery to the platforms you currently don’t have direct deals with?
Adwaith S: We currently work with AWAL to distribute our catalog to platforms with which we don’t have direct deals.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Adwaith S: As one of my ex-colleague said, we don’t look at it as being a competition but more of a journey that we go on together. We keep constantly working to expand our reach, to distribute our releases as directly as possible to the platforms.
Your final thoughts?
Adwaith S: The market for the music industry is growing very fast, and there will still be more record labels in the future with advanced services too. At FADN, we will constantly work on expanding our technology and services and maintaining healthy relationships with our artists and the audience.
