Jyotsana Mishra tells us how Metapercept has grown from technical writing to software development, product development, and information architecture services.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you joined Metapercept.
Jyotsana Mishra: Amit Siddhartha found this company for his liking of technology and writing. He enjoys converting complex data into simple and useful information. He started Metapercept Consulting in 2010 and incorporated Metapercept Technology Services in the year 2016.
To date, we have grown from 2 employees to 45 employees, and we found our niche in technical writing and now expanded into software development, product development, and information architecture services.
We are the renowned DITA, product development and technical consulting services based out of Pune, India, and have clientele across the globe.
Do you have small habits that made a meaningful impact on your life and business?
Jyotsana Mishra: We prefer setting up an expectation call to understand the challenges and solutions that the client is looking forward to, and then we suggest the best-suited solution within their budget. That helps us to build trust from day one we connect with them. With that, we also prefer to keep them updated about the progress we are making and issues we face, that way, it helps them understand how we are progressing and if any delay happens or they need a change. That allows us to deliver and change the final output if required.
How does Metapercept market its product/services online?
Jyotsana Mishra: Our clients are mostly the reference of our previous clients. However, we believe in content marketing. To date, we have rarely used any paid marketing services.
Our client’s testimonials, references, and support help us build new clients and retain our clientele.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to manage your online marketing?
Jyotsana Mishra: We have a team of technical writers and content writers. This team produces content relevant to the challenges faced by our clients and the solution we offer.
We share such posts and content on our walls and feeds. We run campaigns and share the newsletter with the clients.
What is your hiring policy/process, and how do you retain your employees?
Jyotsana Mishra: We hire for the learning attitude. Even though the person does not have the right skills, if they have the attitude to learn, they are most welcome.
How are you funding your growth?
This is a self-funded company, and we are currently looking for investors only for our edTech product.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Jyotsana Mishra: Our competitors are Scriptorium, Mekon, and 3di. We are looking and learning from them, plus adding our own learnings from our mistakes and the challenges we have faced to grow ourselves and stay in the game.
Tell us a customer success story of yours.

Your final thoughts?
Jyotsana Mishra: Stay persistent and focus on your goals. A company can become a success only when every organization employee takes ownership and adheres to their responsibilities. Yes, certainly you will need to help each other but don’t let that hamper your quality of work.
