Rob Kosberg, CEO and Founder of Best Seller Publishing, tells us how they help authors, and business owners realize their best-selling potential.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded Best Seller Publishing.
Rob Kosberg: The company was born out of a crisis. After writing a book to help with my Financial Services business, others came to me and asked if I could help them. That’s how Best Seller Publishing got started.
Do you have small habits that made a meaningful impact on your life and business?
Rob Kosberg: Yes. I have many. Among them is a morning routine that prepares me for the day physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I also have the habit of having my top goals as the screensaver on my phone to remind me daily of where we are heading as a company.
How does Best Seller Publishing market its product/services online?
Rob Kosberg: Mostly social media. We market through various vehicles on Facebook. We also use Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. We are even getting into the TikTok space.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to manage your online marketing?
Rob Kosberg: We have a great team that handles almost all of that stuff. I’m more concerned about the messaging, calls to action, and offers we are making. I would have one piece of advice: stay in your genius and build a team around you to take care of everything else.
What is your hiring policy/process, and how do you retain your employees?
Rob Kosberg: We have hired employees in a number of different ways–through websites, word-of-mouth, and references from other employees. We have a very low turnover rate in our employees. A lot of that has to do with being careful upfront with who we hire–are they compatible with our team values? Do they share in our vision? Besides that, we treat each employee as an individual. What drives one person doesn’t make sense to another person. We try to find what works for them as people.
How are you funding your growth?
Rob Kosberg: Our main funding comes from reinvesting our income into our company.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Rob Kosberg: We have certainly gotten more and more competitors over the years. I can’t scroll through Facebook without seeing a bunch of them. However, we are not overly concerned about them. We have developed such a solid reputation and received so many referrals that we believe our quality delivery will keep us in our premier position in the industry.
Tell us a customer success story of yours.
Rob Kosberg: There are so many. One recent one is Gena Lester, who helps families get their children into their dream college. We published and promoted her book College Admissions Secrets, and within the first few months, she generated over six figures of additional income through the book. She continues to use the book to help her grow her business. We say that your book is the gateway to your 7-figure business and beyond.
