Vicky Prasad (Victor) of MyTasker tells us how they provide virtual receptionist services, and writing assistance to their offshore clients.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you joined MyTasker.
Vicky Prasad (Victor): I am one of the business heads of MyTasker. I’ve been associated with this company since 11th March 2013. I worked in retail, sales, and marketing before joining MyTasker.
The foremost thing that enormously intrigued me while joining MyTasker was its business model, where you learn, earn, and grow simultaneously.
A person can hone their skills anywhere. However, MyTasker is an organization that offers an exceptional work environment for self-development and growth, be it learning new skills, getting acquainted with meta-learning, or exposure to various decision-making programs.
The company was founded in 2012 by three enthusiasts, Ranendra Hazra, Bikash Saha, and Gurjeet Singh Dhillon.
They brought forward years of experience working as virtual assistants. They were the early mentors who shaped the entire work culture of MyTasker.
Do you have small habits that made a meaningful impact on your life and business?
Vicky Prasad (Victor): Yes, quite a lot!
Empathy is of utmost importance when it comes to assisting clients.
One common habit that I, along with my other colleagues, have is brainstorming to find the underlying or actual intent behind our clients’ needs. It helps us work empathetically. Without that, everything is dry and soulless.
We are adept in many skill sets and have multiple teams such as accounts, website designing & development, IT support, digital marketing, writing, and administrative support. However, the most significant commonality that we all share is that we are a group of virtual assistants who empathetically assist a myriad of clients worldwide.
Thus, we strive to put ourselves in our clients’ shoes and put their interests first.
For instance, if we find a client whose subscription exceeds his requirements, we proactively ask him to downgrade his subscription.
We offer an Exclusive Trial to our business prospects where they get enough time, assistance, and attention to share their requirements.
We walk them through the MyTasker task handling process and pair them up with their dedicated assistants and point of contact.
We also perform some trial work and request them to subscribe only if they find our service fruitful.
Being empathetic helped me become a better human being at work and in my personal life.
How does MyTasker market its product/services online?
Vicky Prasad (Victor): As far as marketing is concerned, we heavily count on our current clients, their text and video reviews, and word of mouth. Besides, we strive to grow their businesses and assist them continuously.
Our business growth solely relies on the growth of our clients. If their businesses grow, they will hire more assistants. And if they hire more assistants, our business will also grow synchronously.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to manage your online marketing?
Vicky Prasad (Victor): We use Google Analytics, Semrush, and Buffer to manage our online marketing.
We have our own business CRM for work management built by our developers and designers.
It lets us check when our employees log in and log out. We can interact with our clients and employees via our CRM.
Apart from that, we use Google Meet and Zoom as well.
What is your hiring policy/process, and how do you retain your employees?
Vicky Prasad (Victor): Our hiring policy is smooth and straightforward. Our Human Resource Department enlists job openings on our career page and uses LinkedIn to hire employees when we need more workforce.
We pay people on time and always strive to add value in their pursuit of self-development. One of our sole targets is to foster a co-learning environment in our organization.
We have incentive plans for our employees proportionate to our organizational growth. For this, they don’t need to sell anything. It is wholly based on their work output and quality.
We revisit our employee welfare programs, again and again, to make them better.
Our prime target is employee growth and creating new work opportunities.
You may find it interesting to know that despite the impact of COVID, we have made new teams and designations in the last few years. We promoted many of our employees and provided them increments even during the pandemic.
For this, we’re deeply grateful to our clients who never forsook us even when the world was engulfed in the virus crisis. We bounced back together.
How are you funding your growth?
Vicky Prasad (Victor): Our employees are our assets. We plan to invest in various skill-improvement, certification, and specialization plans.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Vicky Prasad (Victor): We always like to work on ourselves instead of competing with others. Hence, we aim to grow from strength to strength by analyzing and working on ourselves.
If I have to name one competitor anyway, I will say “MyTasker (version 2021)”.
Our vision is to provide a comprehensive virtual assistance solution that delivers premium service, minimizing cost and maximizing efficiency, thus freeing up more time for our clients to focus on growing their businesses.
Tell us a customer success story of yours.
Vicky Prasad (Victor): There is not one but many stories. We have many clients who started with one dedicated VA and now have a team of virtual assistants who work full-time exclusively for them.
Amazingly, in most cases, the person who was their first dedicated VA is their team manager now. It’s a perfect canvas for co-growth.
Your final thoughts?
Vicky Prasad (Victor): Together, we defeated COVID. Now is the time to celebrate our life and grow. Whether as a company or individual, we all must contribute to making this world more beautiful with our crafts, toil, and passion.
