Petia Koleva of MySuper.Site tells us about how a website is an important tool.
First of all, how are you and your family doing?
Petia Koleva: Since we live in a country that’s pretty close to the war – I don’t know what exactly to say. We were happy for about a week that Covid restrictions were off, and then the war happened. We still have not recovered from the pandemic, many people have already lost their lives, and businesses have been closed. We’re drained emotionally, and we definitely are looking at a brighter future.
Tell us about you, your career, and how you founded MySuper.Site.
Petia Koleva: I’ve always been keen on web design since the middle of the 90s. I also love to draw in my spare time, although there’s rarely the time for it in the past years. I studied psychology from 2005 to 2009, and since 2014 I have been working as a web designer. A time came when I decided to work for myself, not for others, since there were like a ton of ideas in my head that I wanted to develop my way. So MySuper.Site was founded 4 years ago, and the idea behind it is not to develop just a profitable company but to do the things you love to do. When your work is your hobby – you never work a single day in your life. I’m happy to say that we’ve over 200 completed projects and lots of long-term partnerships worldwide for that short period.
How does MySuper.Site market its services online?
Petia Koleva: Well, we are focused on SEO, client reviews, blog writing, and a bit of social marketing. Since one cannot see “our product” in advance, what others have to say about our work is of huge importance. Thus, we kindly ask all our clients to share what they think of our partnership with the world. Of course, this is not enough. People usually search for the service in search engines (Google mainly), and good SEO is a critical factor. We developed an SEO strategy, followed it, and adapted it over the years. And since social media are a place where a lot of time is spent, we continually update our social pages with the latest content in our blog, recent projects, and other useful information. Last but not least – our blog has over 100 posts with lots of advice, guidelines, tendencies, and updates from our niche. It additionally generates lots of traffic to our website and adds to our expertise.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how did you get through it?
Petia Koleva: Fortunately – people were searching exactly for our services during the pandemic. Everyone not only wanted but also needed to be online since it was the only way to welcome clients. I’m happy to say that we developed many successful projects during the pandemic, and we have many new partnerships and satisfied clients. Enriching our portfolio with the websites we built for them and getting their amazing reviews surely will impact us well in the future.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to manage your online marketing?
Petia Koleva: Strategy comes first when talking about marketing. Our website is our marketing tool #1. But for a good performing website – SEO is of huge importance, and it’s our main focus after our website. We also use the help of social media to raise our brand awareness.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Petia Koleva: Everyone wants to work in the IT field today since it’s well paid. The pandemic proved that it’s crucial to have a good-performing website in order to have a profitable business. So, we have lots of competitors – in our country and worldwide. And new ones appear every day. Yet, I believe a company needs to prove that it can really develop the best site for you because the words “We can do it” are not enough. Many of our clients hired us to fix the job some of our competitors did. It’s why I always advise everyone to dig more, check the web designer’s portfolio, read what customers say about working with the company, and even think if the communication with the web designer during the offering process is a satisfying one. And only then to start the partnership.
We plan to stay in the game exactly by showing that we are trustworthy – with our rich portfolio, great reviews on Google, and professional communication during the offering process.
Your final thoughts?
Petia Koleva: Your website can make your business blossom, it should be your marketing tool #1, and you need to hire a trustworthy web design company in order to have this website perform great. Your web designer needs both the knowledge and the experience, and the pandemic proved it. Everyone who had a properly working and looking website was able to minimize the negative effects of Covid. And now, with the war happening, I can only advise everyone to think again if they have a website, if it’s performing the way they expect and if it answers all requirements for a well-performing website, because it may be of crucial importance for their business in the months to come.
It did, indeed.
